Munajaat Shakireen(Thankful) – Sahifa Sajjadia

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

bismillahi alrrahmani alrrahimi

In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful

اللَّهُمَّ أَلْهِمْنَا طَاعَتَكَ

allahumma alhimna ta`ataka

O Allah, inspire us to obey You,

وَجَنِّبْنَا مَعْصِيَتَكَ

wa jannibna ma`siyataka

turn us aside from disobeying You,

وَيَسِّرْ لَنا بُلُوغَ مَا نَتَمَنَّىٰ

wa yassir lana bulugha ma natamanna

make it easy for us to reach that which we wish

مِنِ ٱبْتِغَاءِ رِضْوَانِكَ

min ibtigha'i ridwanika

from the seeking of Your good pleasure,

وَأَحْلِلْنَا بُحْبُوحَةَ جِنَانِكَ

wa ahlilna buhbuhata jinanika

set us down in the midst of Your Gardens,

وَٱقْشَعْ عَنْ بَصَائِرِنَا سَحَابَ ٱلاِرْتِيَابِ

waqsha` `an basa'irina sahaba alirtiyabi

dispel from our insights the clouds of misgiving,

وَٱكْشِفْ عَنْ قُلُوبِنَا أَغْشِيَةَ ٱلْمِرْيَةِ وَٱلْحِجَابِ

wakshif `an qulubina aghshiyata almiryati walhijabi

uncover from our hearts the wrappings of doubt and the veil,

وَأَزْهِقِ ٱلْبَاطِلَ عَنْ ضَمَائِرِنَا

wa azhiq albatila `an dama'irina

make falsehood vanish from our innermost minds,

وَأَثْبِتِ ٱلْحَقَّ فِي سَرَائِرِنَا

wa athbit alhaqqa fi sara'irina

and fix the truth in our secret thoughts,

فَإِنَّ ٱلشُّكُوكَ وَٱلظُّنُونَ لَوَاقِحُ ٱلْفِتَنِ

fa inna ashshukuka wazzununa lawaqihu alfitani

for doubts and opinions fertilize temptations

وَمُكَدِّرَةٌ لِصَفْوِ ٱلْمَنَائِحِ وَٱلْمِنَنِ

wa mukaddiratun lisafwi almana'ihi walminani

and muddle the purity of gifts and kindnesses!

اَللَّهُمَّ ٱحْمِلْنَا فِي سُفُنِ نَجَاتِكَ

allahumma ihmilna fi sufuni najatika

O Allah, carry us in the ships of Your deliverance,

وَمَتِّعْنَا بِلَذِيذِ مُناجَاتِكَ

wa matti`na biladhidhi munajatika

give us to enjoy the pleasure of whispered prayer to You,

وَأَوْرِدْنَا حِيَاضَ حُبِّكَ

wa awridna hiyada hubbika

make us drink at the pools of Your love,

وَأَذِقْنَا حَلاوَةَ وُدِّكَ وَقُرْبِكَ

wa adhiqna halawata wuddika wa qurbika

let us taste the sweetness of Your affection and nearness,

وَٱجْعَلْ جِهَادَنا فِيكَ

waj`al jihadana fika

allow us to struggle in You,

وَهَمَّنَا فِي طَاعَتِكَ

wa hammana fi ta`atika

preoccupy us with obeying You,

وَأَخْلِصْ نِيَّاتِنَا فِي مُعَامَلَتِكَ

wa akhlis niyyatina fi mu`amalatika

and purify our intentions in devoting works to You,

فَإِنَّا بِكَ وَلَكَ

fa inna bika wa laka

for we exist through You and belong to You,

وَلاَ وَسيلَةَ لَنَا إِلَيْكَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ

wa la wasilata lana ilayka illa anta

and we have no one to mediate with You but You!

إِلٰهِي ٱجْعَلْنِي مِنَ ٱلْمُصْطَفَيْنَ ٱلأَخْيَارِ

ilahi ij`alni min almustafayna al-akhyari

My God, place me among the chosen, the good,

وَأَلْحِقْنِي بِٱلصَّالِحِينَ ٱلأَبْرَارِ

wa alhiqni bissalihina al-abrari

join me to the righteous, the pious,

ٱلسَّابِقِينَ إِلَىٰ ٱلْمَكْرُمَاتِ

assabiqina ila almakrumati

the first to reach generous gifts,

ٱلْمُسَارِعِينَ إِلَىٰ ٱلْخَيْراتِ

almusari`ina ila alkhayrati

the swift to come upon good things,

ٱلْعَامِلِينَ لِلْبَاقِيَاتِ ٱلصَّالِحَاتِ

al`amilina lilbaqiyati assalihati

the workers of the enduring acts of righteousness,

ٱلسَّاعِينَ إِلىٰ رَفِيعِ ٱلدَّرَجَاتِ

assa`ina ila rafi`i addarajati

the strivers after elevated degrees!

إِنَّكَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

innaka `ala kulli shay'in qadirun

You are powerful over everything

وَبِٱلإِجَابَةِ جَدِيرٌ

wa bil-ijabati jadirun

and disposed to respond!

بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا أَرْحَمَ ٱلرَّاحِمِينَ

birahmatika ya arhama arrahimina

By Your mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful!
