الصَّلَاةُ عَلَى اتباع الرسل و مُصَدِّقِيهم

اَللَّهُمَّ وَأَتْبَاعُ الرُّسُلِ وَمُصَدِّقُوهُمْ

al-laahum-ma wa at-baau'r-rusul wa mus'ad-diqoohum

1.O God, as for the followers of the messengers and those of the people

مِنْ أَهْلِ الاَرْضِ بِالْغَيْبِ عِنْدَ مُعَارَضَةِ الْمُعَـانِدينَ لَهُمْ

min ah-lil-ar-z''i bil-ghay-bi i'nda mua'araz''atil-mua'anideena lahum

2.of the earth who attested to them unseen (while the obstinate resisted them

بِالتَّكْذِيبِ وَالاشْتِيَاقِ إلَى الْمُرْسَلِينَ بِحَقائِقِ الايْمَانِ .

bit-tak-d'eeb walish-teeaaqi ilaal-mur-saleena bih'aqaaa-iqil-eemaan

3.through crying lies) - they yearned for the emissaries through the realities of faith

فِي كُلِّ دَهْر وَزَمَان أَرْسَلْتَ فِيْهِ رَسُولاً، وَأَقَمْتَ لاهْلِهِ دَلِيلاً،

fee kul-li dah-riw-wa zamaan ar-sal-ta feehee rasoolaa wa aqam-ta liah-lihee daleelaa

4.in every era and time in which You didst send a messenger and set up for the people a director

مِنْ لَدُنْ آدَمَ إلَى مُحَمَّد صَلَّى الله عَلَيْهِ وَآلِـهِ مِنْ أَئِمَّةِ الْهُـدَى،

mil-ladun aaadama ilaa muh'am-madin s'al-laal-laahoo a'lay-hee wa aaalih min a-im-matil-hudaa

5.from the period of Adam down to Muhammad (God bless him and his Household) from among the imams of guidance

وَقَادَةِ أَهْـلِ التُّقَى عَلَى جَمِيعِهِمُ السَّلاَمُ،

wa qaadati ah-lit-tuqaa a'laa jameei'himus-salaamu

6.and the leaders of the godfearing (upon them all be peace) -

فَاذْكُرْهُمْ مِنْكَ بِمَغْفِرَة وَرِضْوَان.

fad'-kur-hum minka bimagh-firatiw-wa riz''-waan

7.remember them with forgiveness and good pleasure!

اَللَّهُمَّ وَأَصْحَابُ مُحَمَّد خَاصَّةً الَّـذِينَ أَحْسَنُوا الصَّحَابَةَ،

al-laahum-ma wa as'-h'aabu muh'am-madin khaaas'-s'atan al-lad'eena ah'-sanoos'-s'ah'aabata

8.O God, and as for the Companions of Muhammad specifically, those who did well in companionship,

وَالَّذِينَ أَبْلَوْا الْبَلاَءَ الْحَسَنَ فِي نَصْرِهِ،

wal-lad'eena ab-lawal-balaaa-al-h'asana fee nas'-rihee

9.who stood the good test in helping him,

وَكَانَفُوهُ وَأَسْرَعُوا إلَى وِفَادَتِهِ وَسَابَقُوا إلَى دَعْوَتِهِ

wa kaanafoohoo wa as-rau'waaa ilaa wifaadatih wa saabaqoo ilaa daa'-watihee

10. supported his mission, promptly advanced at his call, answered it as soon as he made them

واسْتَجَابُوا لَهُ حَيْثُ أَسْمَعَهُمْ حجَّةَ رِسَالاَتِهِ،

was-tajaaboo lahoo h'ay-thu as-maa'hum h'uj-jata risaalaatih

11.responded to him when he made them hear his messages' argument,

وَفَارَقُوا الازْوَاجَ وَالاوْلادَ فِي إظْهَارِ كَلِمَتِهِ،

wa faaraqool-az-waaja wal-aw-laada feee iz'-haari kalimatih

12.separated from mates and children in manifesting his word,

وَقَاتَلُوا الاباءَ وَ الابناءَ فِي تَثْبِيتِ نبُوَّتِهِ،

wa qaatalool-abaaa-a wal-ab-naaa-a fee tath-beeti nuboo-watihee

13.fought against fathers and sons in strengthening his prophecy,

وَانْتَصَرُوا بهِ وَمَنْ كَانُوا مُنْطَوِينَ عَلَى

wa antas'aroo bih wa man kaanoo munt'aweena a'laa

14.and through him gained victory; those who were wrapped in

مَحبَّتِهِ يَرْجُونَ تِجَارَةً لَنْ تَبُورَ فِي مَوَدَّتِهِ،

mah'ab-batihee yar-joona tijaaratal-lan taboora fee mawad-datih

15.affection for him, "hoping for a commerce that comes not to naught" (35:29) in love for him;

وَالّذينَ هَجَرَتْهُمُ العَشَائِرُ إذْ تَعَلَّقُوا بِعُرْوَتِهِ،

wal-lad'eena hajarat-humul-a'shaaa-iru id' taa'l-laqoo biu'r-watih

16.those who were left by their clans when they clung to his handhold

وَانْتَفَتْ مِنْهُمُ الْقَرَاباتُ إذْ سَكَنُوا فِي ظلِّ قَرَابَتِهِ

wantafat min-humul-qaraabaatu id' sakanoo fee z'il-li qaraabatih

17.and denied by their kinsfolk when they rested in the shadow of his kinship;

فَلاَ تَنْسَ لَهُمُ اللّهُمَّ مَا تَرَكُوا لَكَ وَفِيكَ،

falaa tansa lahumul-laahum-ma maa tarakoo laka wa feeka

18.forget not, O God, what they abandoned for You and in You,

وَأَرْضِهِمْ مِنْ رِضْوَانِكَ وَبِمَا حَاشُوا الْخَلْقَ عَلَيْكَ،

wa ar-z''ihim mir-riz''-waanik wa bimaa h'aashool-khal-qa a'lay-k

19.and make them pleased with Your good pleasure for the sake of the creatures they drove to You

وَكَانُوا مَعَ رَسُولِكَ دُعَاةً لَكَ إلَيْكَ،

wa kaanoo maa' rasoolika dua'atal-laka ilay-k

20.while they were with Your Messenger, summoners to You for You.

وَاشكُرْهُمْ عَلَى هَجْرِهِمْ فِيْكَ دِيَارَ قَوْمِهِمْ،

wa ash-kur-hum a'laa haj-rihim feeka deeaara qaw-mihim-

21.Show gratitude to them for leaving the abodes of their people for Your sake

وَخُرُوجِهِمْ مِنْ سَعَةِ الْمَعَاشِ إلَى ضِيْقِهِ،

wa khuroojihim min saa'til-maa'ashi ilaa z''eeqih

22.and going out from a plentiful livelihood to a narrow one,

وَمَنْ كَثَّرْتَ فِي إعْزَازِ دِيْنِـكَ مِنْ مَظْلُومِهِمْ.

wa man kath-thar-ta feee ia'-zaazi deenika mim-maz'-loomihim-

23.and [show gratitude to] those of them who became objects of wrongdoing and whom You multiplied in exalting Your religion.

ألّهُمَّ وَأوْصِلْ إلَى التَّابِعِينَ لَهُمْ بِإحْسَان الَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ :

al-laahum-ma wa aw-s'il ilaat-taabie'ena lahum biih'-saaninl-lad'eena yaqooloona:

24.O God, and give to those who have done well in following the Companions, who say,

رَبَّنَا اغْفِرْ لَنَا وَلاخْوَانِنَا الَّذِيْنَ سَبَقُونَا بِالاِيمَانِ خَيْرَ جَزَائِكَ،

(rab-banaa igh-fir lanaa wa liikh-waaninaal-lad'eena sabaqoonaa bil-eemaan) khay-ra jazaaa-ika

25."Our Lord, forgive us and our brothers who went before us in faith" (59:10), Your best reward;

الَّذِينَ قَصَدُوا سَمْتَهُمْ، وَتَحَرَّوْا وِجْهَتَهُمْ، وَمَضَوْا عَلى شاكِلَتِهِمْ،

al-lad'eena qas'adoo sam-tahum wa tah'ar-raw-a wij-hatahum- wa maz''aw-a a'laa shaakilatihim-

26.those who went straight to the Companions' road, sought out their course, and proceeded in their manner.

لَمْ يَثْنِهِمْ رَيْبٌ فِي بَصِيْرَتِهِمْ، وَلَمْ يَخْتَلِجْهُمْ شَكٌّ

lam yath-nihim ray-bun fee bas'eeratihim wa lam yakh-talij-hum shak-kun

27.No doubt concerning their sure insight diverted them and no uncertainty shook them

فِي قَفْوِ آثَارِهِمْ وَالاِئْتِمَامِ بِهِدَايَةِ مَنَارِهِمْ،

fee qaf-wi aaathaarihim wa aal-ai-timaam bihidaayati manaarihim

28.from following in their tracks and being led by the guidance of their light.

مُكَانِفِينَ وَمُوَازِرِيْنَ لَهُمْ، يَدِيْنُونَ بِدِيْنِهِمْ، وَيَهْتَدُونَ بِهَدْيِهِمْ،

mukaanifeena wa muwaazireena lahum- yadeenoona bideenihim- wa yah-tadoona bihad-yihim-

29.As their assistants and supporters, they professed their religion, gained guidance through their guidance,

يَتَّفِقُونَ عَلَيْهِمْ، وَلاَ يَتَّهِمُونَهُمْ فِيمَا أدَّوْا إلَيْهِمْ.

yat-tafiqoona a'lay-him- wa laa yat-tahimoonahum feemaaa ad-daw-aaa ilay-him-

30.came to agreement with them, and never accused them in what they passed on to them.

ألَّلهُمَّ وَصَلِّ عَلَى التّابِعِيْنَ مِنْ يَوْمِنَا هَذا إلى يَوْم الدِّينِ،

al-laahum-ma was'al-li a'laat-taabie'ena mee-yaw-minaa had'aaa ilaa yaw-mid-deen

31.O God, and bless the Followers, from this day of ours to the Day of Doom,

وَعَلَى أزْوَاجِهِمْ، وَعَلَى ذُرِّيَّاتِهِمْ،

wa a'laaa az-waajihim- wa a'laa d'ur-ree-yaatihim-

32.their wives, their offspring,

وَعَلَى مَنْ أَطَاعَكَ مِنْهُمْ صَلاْةً تَعْصِمُهُمْ بِهَامِنْ مَعْصِيَتِكَ،

wa a'laa man at'aaa'ka min-hum- s'alaatan taa'-s'imuhum bihaa mim-maa'-s'eeatik

33.and those among them who obey You, with a blessing through which You wilt preserve them from disobeying You,

وَتَفْسَحُ لَهُمْ فِي رِيَاضِ جَنَّتِكَ، وَتَمْنَعُهُمْ بِهَا مِنْ كَيْدِ الشَيْطَانِ،

wa taf-sahoo lahum fee reeaaz''i jan-natik wa tam-nau'hum bihaa min kay-dish-shay-t'aan

34.make room for them in the plots of Your Garden, defend them from the trickery of Satan,

وَتُعِينُهُمْ بِهَا عَلَى مَا اسْتَعَانُوكَ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ بِرٍّ،

wa tue'enuhum bihaa a'laa mas-taa'anooka a'lay-hee mim-birr

35.help them in the piety in which they seek help from You,

وَتَقِيهِمْ طَوَارِقَ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ إلاّ طَارِقاً يَطْرُقُ بِخَيْر،

wa taqeehm t'awaariqal-lay-li wan-nahaari il-laa t'aariqay-yat'-ruqu bikhay-r

36.protect them from sudden events that come by night and day - except the events which come with good -

وَتَبْعَثُهُمْ بِهَا عَلَى اعْتِقَادِ حُسْنِ الرَّجَـاءِ لَكَ،

wa tab-a'thuhum bihaa a'laa ia'-tiqaadi h'us-nir-rajaaa-i laka

37.and incite them to tie firmly the knot of good hope in You,

وَالطَّمَعِ فِيمَا عِنْدَكَ، وَتَرْكِ النُّهَمَةِ فِيمَا تَحْويهِ

wat'-t'amai' feemaa i'ndak wa tar-kit-tuh-mati feemaa tah'-weeheee

38.desire what is with You, and refrain from ill thoughts [toward You] because of what

أيْدِي الْعِبَادِ لِتَرُدَّهُمْ إلَى الرَّغْبَةِ إلَيْكَ وَالرَّهْبَةِ مِنْكَ،

ay-deel-i'baad litarud-dahum ilaar-ragh-bati ilay-ka war-rah-bati minka

39.the hands of Your servants' hold. Thus You mayest restore them to beseeching You and fearing You,

وَتُزَهِّدُهُمْ فِي سَعَةِ العَاجِلِ وَتُحَبِّبُ إلَيْهِمُ

wa tuzah-hidahum fee saa'til-a'ajil wa tuh'ab-biba ilay-him

40.induce them to renounce the plenty of the immediate, make them love to

الْعَمَلَ لِلاجِلِ، وَالاسْتِعْدَادَ لِمَا بَعْدَ الْمَوْتِ وَتُهَوِّنَ عَلَيْهِمْ

himul-a'mala lil-aaajil walis-tia'-daada limaa baa'-dal-maw-t wa tuhaw-wina a'lay-him

41.work for the sake of the deferred and prepare for what comes after death, make easy for them

كُلَّ كَرْب يَحُلُّ بِهِمْ يَوْمَ خُـرُوجِ الانْفُسِ مِنْ أَبْدَانِهَا

kul-la kar-bee-yah'il-lu bihim yaw-ma khuroojil-anfusi min ab-daanihaa

42.every distress that comes to them on the day when souls take leave from bodies,

وَتُعَافِيَهُمْ مِمَّا تَقَعُ بِهِ الْفِتْنَةُ مِنْ مَحْذُورَاتِهَا،

wa tua'afeeahum mim-maa taqau' bihil-fit-natu mim-mah'-d'ooraatihaa

43.release them from that which brings about the perils of temptation

وَكَبَّةِ النَّارِ وَطُولِ الْخُلُودِ فِيهَا،

wa kab-batin-naari wa t'oolil-khuloodi feehaa

44.and being thrown down in the Fire and staying forever within it,

وَتُصَيِّرَهُمْ إلَى أَمْن مِنْ مَقِيلِ الْمُتَّقِينَ .

wa tus'ay-yirahum ilaaa am-nim-mim-maqeelil-mut-taqeen

45.and take them to security, the resting place of the godfearing.
