أَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد وَآلِهِ

al-laahum-ma s'al-li a'laa muh'am-madiw-wa aaalih

1.O God, bless Muhammad and his Household

وَهَبْ لِيَ الْعَافِيَةَ مِنْ دَيْن تُخْلِقُ بِهِ وَجْهِي،

wa hab leeal-a'afeeata min day-nin tukh-liqu bihee waj-hee

2.and release me from a debt which makes me lose face,

وَيَحَارُ فِيهِ ذِهْنِي، وَيَتَشَعَّبُ لَهُ فِكْرِي،

wa yah'aaru feehee d'ih-nee wa yatashaa'-a'bu lahoo fik-ree

3.confuses my mind, disrupts my thinking,

وَيَطُولُ بِمُمَارَسَتِهِ شُغْلِي،

wa yat'oolu bimumaarasatihee shugh-lee

4.and prolongs my occupation with attending to it!

وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ يَا رَبِّ مِنْ هَمِّ الدَّيْنِ وَفِكْرِهِ،

wa au'wd'u bika yaa rab-bi min ham-mid-day-ni wafik-rih

5.I seek refuge in You, my Lord, from worry and thought about debt,

وَشُغْلِ الدَّيْنِ وَسَهَرِهِ.

wa shugh-lid-day-ni wasaharih

6.from the distraction and sleeplessness of debt;

فَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد وَآلِهِ وَأَعِذْنِي مِنْهُ.

fas'al-li a'laa muh'am-madiw-wa aaalih wa ai'd'-nee min-h

7.so bless Muhammad and his Household and give me refuge from it!

وَأَسْتَجيرُ بِكَ يَا رَبِّ مِنْ ذِلَّتِهِ فِي الْحَيَاةِ

wa as-tajeeru bika yaa rab-bi min d'il-latihee fil-h'ayaah

8.I seek sanctuary in You, my Lord, from debt's abasement in life

وَمِنْ تَبِعَتِهِ بَعْدَ الْوَفَاةِ.

wa min tabia'tihee baa'-dal-wafaah

9.and its ill effects after death,

فَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد وَآلِهِ وَأَجِرْنِي مِنْهُ

fas'al-li a'laa muh'am-madiw-wa aaalih wa ajir-nee min-hoo

10.so bless Muhammad and his Household and give me sanctuary from it

بِوُسْع فاضِل أَوْ كَفَاف وَاصِل.

biwus-i'n faaz''ilin aw kafaafiw-waas'il

11.through a bountiful plenty or a continually arriving sufficiency!

أَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد وَآلِـهِ

al-laahum-ma s'al-li a'laa muh'am-madiw-wa aaalih

12.O God, bless Muhammad and his Household

وَاحْجُبْنِي عَنِ السَّرَفِ وَالازْدِيَادِ،

wah'-jub-nee a'nis-sarafi waliz-deeaad

13.prevent me from extravagance and excess,

وَقَوِّمْنِي بِالْبَذْلِ وَالاقْتِصَـادِ،

wa qaw-wim-nee bil-bad'-li waliq-tis'aad

14.put me on the course of generous spending and moderation,

وَعَلِّمْنِي حُسْنَ التَّقْدِيرِ،

wa a'l-lim-nee h'us-nat-taq-deer

15.teach me excellent distribution,

وَاقْبِضْنِي بِلُطْفِكَ عَنِ التَّبْذِيرِ

waq-biz''-nee bilut'-fika a'nit-tab-d'eer

16.hold me back through Your gentleness from squandering,

وَأَجْرِ مِنْ أَسْبَابِ الْحَلاَلِ أَرْزَاقِي،

wa aj-ri min as-baabil-h'alaali ar-zaaqee

17.allow me to attain my provisions through lawful means,

وَوَجِّهْ فِي أَبْوَابِ الْبِرِّ إنْفَاقِي،

wa waj-jih feee ab-waabil-bir-ri infaaqee

18.direct my spending toward the gateways of devotion,

وَازْوِ عَنِّي مِنَ الْمَالِ مَا يُحْدِثُ لِي مَخِيلََةً

waz-wi a'n-nee minal-maali maa yuh'-dithu lee makhi-latan

19.and take away from me any possession which will bring forth pride in me,

أَوْ تَأَدِّياً إلَى بَغْي، أَوْ مَا أَتَعَقَّبُ مِنْهُ طُغْيَـاناً.

aw taad-deean ilaa bagh-yin aw maaa ataa'q-qabu min-hoo t'ugh-yaanaa

20.lead to insolence, or drag me in its heels to rebellion!

أللَّهُمَّ حَبِّبْ إلَيَّ صُحْبَـةَ الْفُقَرَاءِ،

al-laahum-ma h'ab-bib ilay-ya s'uh'-batal-fuqaraaa-i

21.O God, make me love the companionship of the poor

وَأَعِنِّي عَلَى صُحْبَتِهِمْ بِحُسْنِ الْصَّبْرِ،

wa ai'n-nee a'laa s'uh'-batihim bih'us-nis'-s'ab-r

22.and help me be their companion with excellent patience!

وَمَـا زَوَيْتَ عَنِّي مِنْ مَتَاعِ الدُّنْيَاالفَانِيَةِ

wa maa zaway-ta a'n-nee mim-mataai'd-dunyaa al-faaneeati

23.Whenever You takest away from me the goods of this perishing world,

فَاذْخَرْهُ لِيْ فِي خَزَائِنِكَ البَاقِيَةِ،

fad'-khar-hoo lee fee khazaaa-inikal-baaqeeah

24.store them for me in Your abiding treasuries!

وَاجْعَلْ مَا خَوَّلْتَنِي مِنْ حُطَامِهَا،

waj-a'l maa khaw-wal-tanee min h'ut'aamihaa

25.Make this world's broken pieces which You hast conferred upon me

وَعَجَّلْتَ لِي مِنْ مَتَاعِهَا بُلْغَةً إلَى جِوَارِكَ،

wa a'j-jal-ta lee mim-mataai'haa bul-ghatan ilaa jiwaarik

26.and its goods which You hast quickly granted to me a way to reach Your neighbourhood,

وَوُصْلَةً إلَى قُرْبِكَ، وَذَرِيعَةً إلَى جَنَّتِكَ

wa wus'-latan ilaa qur-bik wa d'areea'tan ilaa jan-natik

27.a link to Your nearness, and a means to Your Garden!

إنَّكَ ذو الْفَضْلِ الْعَظِيمِ،

in-naka d'ool-faz''-li ala'z'eem

28.Verily You art Possessor of bounty abounding,

وَأَنْتَ الْجَوَادُ الْكَرِيْمُ.

wa antal-jawaadu alkareem

29.and You art the Munificent, the Generous.
