أَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد وَآلِهِ

al-laahum-ma s'al-li a'laa muh'am-madiw-wa aaalih

1.O God, bless Muhammad and his Household,

وَاكْسِرْ شَهْوَتِي عَنْ كُـلِّ مَحْرَم،

wak-sir shah-watee a'n kul-li muh'ar-ram

2.break my passion for every unlawful thing,

وَازْوِ حِـرْصِي عَنْ كُلِّ مَأثَم،

waz-wi h'ir-s'ee a'n kul-li maa-tham

3.take away my craving for any sin,

وَامْنَعْنِي عَنْ أَذَى كُـلِّ مُؤْمِن وَمُؤْمِنَـة وَمُسْلِم وَمُسْلِمَة،

wam-naa'-nee a'n ad'a kul-li moo-miniw-wa moo-minatiw-wa mus-limiw-wa mus-limah

4.and bar me from harming any believer, male or female, and any Muslim, male or female!

أللَّهُمَّ وَأَيُّمَا عَبْد نالَ مِنِّي مَا حَظَرْتَ عَلَيْهِ،

al-laahum-ma wa ay-yumaa a'b-d naala min-nee maa h'az'ar-ta a'lay-h

5.O God, if any of Your servants should harm me in what You hast forbidden

وَانْتَهَكَ مِنِّي مَا حَجَرْتَ عَلَيْهِ،

wantahaka min-nee maa h'ajar-ta a'lay-h

6.or violate me in what You hast interdicted,

فَمَضَى بِظُلاَمَتِي مَيِّتاً،

famz''aa biz'ulaamatee may-yitaa

7.and if he should pass into death with my complaint

أَوْ حَصَلَتْ لِيْ قِبَلَهُ حَيّاً،

aw h'as'alat lee qibalahoo h'ay-yaa

8.or I come to have a complaint against him while he is alive,

فَاغْفِرْ لَهُ مَا أَلَمَّ بِهِ مِنِّي،

fagh-fir lahoo maaa alam-ma bihee min-nee

9.forgive him what he did to me

وَاعْفُ لَهُ عَمَّا أَدْبَرَ بِهِ عَنِّي،

waa'-fu lahoo a'm-maaa ad-bara bihee a'n-nee

10.and pardon him that through which he turned his back on me!

وَلاَ تَقِفْـهُ عَلَى مَا ارْتَكَبَ فِيَّ،

wa laa taqif-hoo a'laa mar-tkaba fee

11.Inquire not from him about what he committed toward me

وَلاَ تَكْشِفْهُ عَمَّا اكْتَسَبَ بِيْ،

wa laa tak-shif-hoo a'm-mak-tasaba bee

12.and expose him not through what he earned by me!

وَاجْعَلْ مَا سَمَحْتُ بِهِ مِنَ الْعَفْـوِ عَنْهُمْ

waj-a'l maa samah'-tu bihee minal-a'f-wi a'n-hum

13.Make my open-handedness in pardoning such servants

وَتَبَرَّعْتُ بِـهِ مِنَ الصَّدَقَةِ عَلَيْهِمْ

wa tabar-raa'-tu bihee minas'-s'adaqati a'lay-him-

14.and my contribution in charity toward them

أَزْكَى صَدَقَاتِ الْمُتَصَدِّقِينَ

az-kaa s'adaqaatil-mutas'ad-diqeen

15.the purest charity of the charitable

وَأَعْلَى صِلاَتِ الْمُتَقَرِّبِينَ،

wa aa'laa s'ilaatil-mutaqar-ribeen

16.and the highest gift of those seeking nearness to You!

وَعَوِّضْنِي مِنْ عَفْوِي عَنْهُمْ عَفْوَكَ

wa a'w-wiz''-nee min a'f-wee a'n-hum a'f-wak

17.Recompense me for my pardoning them with Your pardon

وَمِنْ دُعَائِي لَهُمْ رَحْمَتَكَ

wa min dua'aa-ee lahum rah'-matak

18.and for my supplicating for them with Your mercy

حَتَّى يَسْعَدَ كُلُّ وَاحِد مِنَّا بِفَضْلِكَ

h'at-taa yas-a'da kul-lu waah'idim-min-naa bifaz''-lik

19.so that each one of us may gain felicity through Your bounty

وَيَنْجُوَ كُلٌّ مِنَّا بِمَنِّكَ.

wa yanjuwa kul-lum-min-naa biman-nik

20.and each may attain deliverance through Your kindness!

أللَّهُمَّ وَأَيُّما عَبْد مِنْ عَبِيْدِكَ

al-laahum-ma wa ay-yumaa a'b-dim-min a'beedika

21.O God, if there is a servant from among Your servants

أدرَكَهُ مِنِّي دَرَكٌ أَوْ مَسَّهُ مِنْ نَاحِيَتِي أَذَىً،

ad-rakahoo min-nee darak aw mas-sahoo min-naah'eeateee ad'ana

22.whom an ill visits on my account, a harm touches from my direction,

أَوْ لَحِقَـهُ بِي أَوْ بِسَبَبي ظُلْمٌ

aw lah'iqahoo beee aw bisababee z'ul-m

23.or a wrong overtakes through me or because of me,

فَفُتُّهُ بِحَقِّـهِ،

fafut-tuhoo bih'aq-qih

24.and should I fail to take care of his right

أَوْسَبَقْتُهُ بِمَظْلَمَتِهِ،

aw sabaq-tuhoo bimaz'-lamatih

25.or go before him [in death] with his complaint,

فَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد وَآلِهِ،

fas'al-li a'laa muh'am-madiw-wa aaalih

26.bless Muhammad and his Household,

وَأَرْضِهِ عَنِّي مِنْ وُجْدِكَ، وَأَوْفِهِ حَقَّهُ مِنْ عِنْدِكَ،

wa ar-z''ihee a'n-nee miw-wuj-dik wa aw-fihee h'aq-qahoo min i'ndik

27.satisfy him toward me through Your wealth, and give him his full right from Yourself!

ثُمَّ قِنيْ مَا يُوجِبُ لَهُ حُكْمُكَ،

thum-ma qinee maa yoojibu lahoo h'uk-muk

28.Then protect me from what Your decision mandates

وَخَلِّصْنِي مِمَّا يَحْكُمُ بِهِ عَدْلُكَ،

wa khal-lis'-nee mim-maa yah'-kumu bihee a'd-luk

29.and save me from what Your justice decides,

فَإنَّ قُوَّتِي لا تَسْتَقِلُّ بِنَقِمَتِكَ،

fa in-na qoo-watee laa tas-taqil-lu binaqimatik

30.for my strength cannot bear Your vengeance

وَإنَّ طَاقتِي لا تَنْهَضُ بِسُخْطِكَ،

wa in-na t'aaqatee laa tan-haz''u bisukh-t'ik

31.and my power cannot stand up to Your displeasure!

فَإنَّكَ إنْ تُكَـافِنِي بِالْحَقِّ تُهْلِكْنِي،

fa in-naka in tukaafinee bil-h'aq-qi tuh-lik-nee

32.If You recompensest me with the right, You wilt destroy me,

وَإلاّ تَغَمَّـدْنِي بِرَحْمَتِكَ تُوبِقْنِي.

wa il-la tagham-mad-nee birah'-matika toobiq-nee

33.and if You dost not shield me in Your mercy, You wilt lay me waste.

أللَّهُمَّ إنِّي أَسْتَوْهِبُكَ يَا إلهِي مَا لا يَنْقُصُكَ بَذْلُهُ،

al-laahum-ma in-nee as-taw-hibuka yaaa ilaahee maa laa yanqus'uka bad'-luh

34.O God, I ask You to grant, my God, that whose giving will not decrease You,

وَأَسْتَحْمِلُكَ مَا لا يَبْهَظُكَ حَمْلُهُ،

wa as-tah'-miluka maa laa yab-haz'uka h'am-luh

35.and I ask You to carry that whose carrying will not weigh You down:

أَسْتَوْهِبُكَ يَا إلهِي نَفْسِيَ الَّتِيْ لَمْ تَخْلُقْهَا لِتَمْتَنِعَ بِهَا مِنْ سُوء،

as-taw-hibuka yaaa ilaahee naf-seeal-latee lam takh-luq-haa litam-tania' bihaa min sooo-in

36.My God, I ask You to give my soul, which You didst not create to keep Yourself from evil

أَوْ لِتَطَرَّقَ بِهَا إلى نَفْع،

aw litat'ar-raqa bihaaa ilaa naf-a'

37.nor to find the way to profit.

وَلكِنْ أَنْشَأتَهَا إثْبَاتاً لِقُدْرَتِكَ عَلَى مِثْلِهَا،

wa lkin anshaa-tahaa ith-baatal-liqud-ratika a'laa mith-lihaa

38.No, You brought it forth to demonstrate Your power over its like

وَاحْتِجَاجاً بِهَا عَلَى شَكْلِهَا،

wah'-tijaajam-bihaa a'laa shak-lihaa

39.and to provide an argument against its similar.

وَأَسْتَحْمِلُكَ مِنْ ذُنُوبِي مَا قَدْ بَهَظَنِي حَمْلُهُ،

wa as-tah'-miluka min d'unoobee maa qad bahaz'anee h'am-luh

40.I ask You to carry those of my sins whose carrying weighs me down

وَأَسْتَعِينُ بِكَ عَلَى مَا قَدْ فَدَحَنِي ثِقْلُهُ.

wa as-tae'enu bika a'laa maa qad fadah'anee thiq-luh

41.and I seek help from You in that whose heaviness oppresses me.

فَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد وَآلِهِ،

fas'al-li a'laa muh'am-madiw-wa aaalih

42.So bless Muhammad and his Household,

وَهَبْ لِنَفْسِي عَلَى ظُلْمِهَا نَفْسِيْ،

wa hab linaf-see a'laa z'ul-mihaa naf-see

43.give to me my soul in spite of its wrongdoing,

وَوَكِّلْ رَحْمَتَكَ بِاحْتِمَالِ إصْرِي،

wa wak-kir-r-rah'-mataka bih'-timaali is'-ree

44.and appoint Your mercy to carry my burden!

فَكَمْ قَدْ لَحِقَتْ رَحْمَتُكَ بِالْمُسِيئِينَ،

fakam qad lah'iqat rah'-matuka bil-musee-een

45.How many evildoers Your mercy has overtaken!

وَكَمْ قَدْ شَمِلَ عَفْوُكَ الظَّالِمِينَ.

wa kam qad shamila a'f-wukaz'-z'aalimeen

46.How many wrongdoers Your pardon has embraced!

فَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد وَآلِهِ، وَاجْعَلْنِي أُسْوَةَ مَنْ قَدْ أَنْهَضْتَهُ

fas'al-li a'laa muh'am-madiw-wa aaalih waj-a'l-neee us-wata man qad an-haz''-tahoo

47.So bless Muhammad and his Household and make me the model of him whom You hast aroused

بِتَجَاوُزِكَ عَنْ مَصَارِعِ الْخَاطِئِينَ،

bitajaawzika a'm-mas'aarii'l-khaat'i-een

48.through Your forbearance from the deadly infirmities of the offenders

وَخَلَّصْتَهُ بِتَوْفِيقِكَ مِنْ وَرَطَاتِ الْمُجْرِمِينَ،

wa khal-las'-tahoo bitawfeeqika miw-warat'aatil-muj-rimeen

49.and saved through Your giving success from the tangled plights of the sinners,

فَأَصْبَحَ طَلِيقَ عَفْوِكَ مِنْ إسَارِ سُخْطِكَ،

faas'-bah'a t'aleeqa a'f-wika mn isaari sukh-t'ik

50.so that I may rise up freed by Your pardon from the bonds of Your displeasure

وَعَتِيقَ صُنْعِكَ مِنْ وَثَاقِ عَدْلِكَ،

wa a'teeqa s'un-i'ka miw-wathaaqi a'd-lik

51.and released by Your benefaction from the ties of Your justice!

إنَّكَ إنْ تَفْعَلْ ذَلِكَ يَا إلهِي تَفْعَلْهُ بِمَنْ

in-naka in taf-a'l d'alika yaaa ilaahee taf-a'l-hoo biman

52.Surely if You dost that, my God, You wilt do it to one

لاَ يَجْحَدُ اسْتِحْقَاقَ عُقُوبَتِكَ،

laa yaj-h'adu as-tih'-qaaqa u'qoobatik

53.who does not deny deserving Your punishment

وَلاَ يُبَرِّئُ نَفْسَهُ مِنِ اسْتِيجَابِ نَقِمَتِكَ،

wa laa yubar-ri-u naf-sahoo min as-teejaabi naqimatik

54.or acquit himself from merit for Your vengeance.

تَفْعَلُ ذلِكَ يَا إلهِي بِمَنْ خَوْفُهُ مِنْكَ أَكْثَرُ مِنْ طَمَعِهِ فِيكَ،

taf-a'lu d'alika yaaa ilaahee biman khaw-fuhoo minka ak-tharu min t'amai'hee feek

55.Do that, my God, for one whose fear of You is greater than his craving from You,

وَبِمَنْ يَأْسُهُ مِنَ النَّجَاةِ أَوْكَدُ مِنْ رَجَائِهِ لِلْخَلاَصِ،

wa bimay-yaa-suhoo minan-najaati aw-kadu mir-rajaaa-ihee lil-khalaas'

56.whose hopelessness of deliverance is firmer than his hope for salvation!

لاَ أَنْ يَكُونَ يَأْسُهُ قُنُوطَاً

laaa ay-yakoona yaa-suhoo qunoot'aa

57.Not that his hopelessness is despair,

أَوْ أَنْ يَكُونَ طَمَعُهُ اغْتِرَاراً

aw ay-yakoona t'amau'hoo agh-tiraaraa

58.nor that his expectation is deluded.

بَلْ لِقِلَّةِ حَسَنَاتِهِ بَيْنَ سَيِّئاتِهِ،

bal-liqil-lati h'asanaatihee bay-na say-yi-aatih

59.No, rather his good deeds are few among his evil deeds

وَضَعْفِ حُجَجِهِ فِي جَمِيعِ تَبِعَاتِهِ،

wa z''aa'-fi h'ujajihee fee jameei' tabia'atih

60.and his arguments are frail in face of everything due from his acts.

فَأَمَّا أَنْتَ يَا إلهِي فَأَهْلٌ أَنْ

faam-maaa anta yaaa ilaahee faah-lun an

61.But Thou, my God, art worthy that

لاَ يَغْتَرَّ بِكَ الصِّدِّيقُونَ،

laa yagh-tar-ra bikas'-s'id-deeqoon

62.the righteous not be deluded concerning You

وَلاَ يَيْأَسَ مِنْكَ الْمُجْرِمُونَ،

wa laa yay-asa minkal-muj-rimoon

63.and the sinners not lose hope in You,

لاَِنَّكَ ألرَّبُّ الْعَظِيمُ الَّذِيْ لاَ يَمْنَعُ أَحَداً فَضْلَهُ

lian-nakar-rab-bul-a'z'eemul-lad'ee laa yam-nau' ah'adana faz''-lah

64.for You art the All-mighty Lord who holds back His bounty from none

وَلاَ يَسْتَقْصِي مِنْ أَحَد حَقَّـهُ.

wa laa yas-taq-s'ee min ah'adin h'aq-qah

65.and takes His full right from no one.

تَعَالى ذِكْرُكَ عَنِ الْمَذْكُورِينَ،

taa'alaa d'ik-ruka a'nil-mad'-kooreen

66.High exalted is Your mention above those mentioned!

وَتَقَدَّست أَسْمَاؤُكَ عَنِ الْمَنْسُوبِينَ،

wa taqad-dasat as-maaaw-uka a'nil-mansoobeen

67.Holy are Your names beyond those described!

وَفَشَتْ نِعْمَتُكَ فِيْ جَمِيْعِ الْمَخْلُوقِينَ،

wa fashat nia'-matuka fee jameei'l-makh-looqeen

68.Spread is Your favour among all creatures!

فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ عَلَى ذَلِكَ يَا رَبَّ الْعَالَمِينَ .

falakal-h'am-du a'laa d'alika yaa rab-bal-a'alameen

69.Thine is the praise for that, O Lord of the worlds!
