أَللَّهُمَّ يَا مَنْ لا يَصِفُهُ نَعْتُ الْوَاصِفِينَ ،

al-laahum-ma yaa mal-laa yas'ifuhoo naa'-tul-waas'ifeen

1.O God, O He whom the depiction of the describers fails to describe!

وَيَا مَنْ لاَ يُجَاوِزُهُ رَجَاءُ الرَّاجِينَ ،

wa yaa mal-laa yujaawizuhoo rajaaa-ur-raajeen

2.O He beyond whom passes not the hope of the hopers!

وَيَا مَنْ لاَ يَضِيعُ لَدَيْهِ أَجْرُ الْمُحْسِنِينَ،

wa yaa mal-laa yaz''eeu' laday-heee aj-rul-muh'-sineen

3.O He with whom is not lost the wage of the good-doers!

وَيَا مَنْ هُوَ مُنْتَهَى خَوْفِ الْعَابِدِيْنَ،

wa yaa man huwa muntahaa khaw-fil-a'abideen

4.O He who is the ultimate object of the fear of the worshipers!

وَيَا مَنْ هُوَ غَايَةُ خَشْيَةِ الْمُتَّقِينَ.

wa yaa man huwa ghaayatu khash-yatil-mut-taqeen

5.O He who is the utmost limit of the dread of the godfearing!

هَذا مَقَامُ مَنْ تَدَاوَلَتْهُ أَيْدِي الذُّنُوبِ ،

had'aa maqaamu man tadaawalat-hooo ay-deed'-d'unoob

6.This is the station of him whom sins have passed from hand to hand.

وَقَادَتْهُ أَزِمَّةُ الْخَطَايَا ،

wa qaadat-hooo azim-matul-khat'aayaa

7.Offenses' reins have led him on,

وَاسْتَحْوَذَ عَلَيْهِ الشَّيْطَانُ،

was-tah'-wad'a a'lay-hish-shay-t'aan

8.and Satan has gained mastery over him.

فَقَصَّرَ عَمَّا أَمَرْتَ بِهِ تَفْرِيطَاً،

faqas'-s'ara a'm-maaa amar-ta bihee taf-reet'aa

9.He fell short of what You hast commanded through neglect

وَتَعَاطى مَا نَهَيْتَ عَنْهُ تَغْرِيراً،

wa taa'at'aa maa nahay-ta a'n-hoo tagh-reeraa

10.and he pursued what You hast prohibited in delusion,

كَالْجاهِلِ بِقُدْرَتِكَ عَلَيْهِ،

kal-jaahili biqud-ratika a'leeh

11.like one ignorant of Your power over him

أَوْ كَالْمُنْكِرِ فَضْلَ إحْسَانِكَ إلَيْهِ،

aw kal-munkiri faz''-la ih'-saanika ilay-h

12.or one who denies the bounty of Your beneficence toward him,

حَتَّى إذَا انْفَتَحَ لَهُ بَصَرُ الْهُدَى،

h'at-taaa id'aa anfatah'a lahoo bas'arul-hudaa

13.until, when the eye of guidance was opened for him

وَتَقَشَّعَتْ عَنْهُ سَحَائِبُ الْعَمَى أَحْصَى مَا ظَلَمَ بِهِ نَفْسَهُ،

wa taqash-shaa't a'n-hoo sah'aaa-ibul-a'maa ah'-s'aa maa z'alama bihee naf-sah

14.and the clouds of blindness were dispelled, he reckoned that through which he had wronged himself

وَفَكَّرَ فِيمَا خَالَفَ بِهِ رَبَّهُ،

wa fak-kara feemaa khaalafa bihee rab-bah

15.and reflected upon that in which he had opposed his Lord.

فَرَأى كَبِيْرَ عِصْيَانِهِ كَبِيْراً، وَجَلِيل مُخالفَتِهِ جَلِيْلاً،

faraaa kabeera i's'-yaanihee kabeeraw-wa jaleela mukhaalafatihee jaleelaa

16.He saw his vast disobedience as vast and his great opposition as great.

فَأَقْبَلَ نَحْوَكَ مُؤَمِّلاً لَكَ، مُسْتَحْيِيَاً مِنْكَ،

faaq-bala nah'-waka moo-am-milal-laka mus-tah'-yeeam-mink

17.So turned to You, hoping in You and ashamed before You,

وَوَجَّهَ رَغْبَتَهُ إلَيْكَ ثِقَةً بِكَ،

wa waj-jaha ragh-batahooo ilay-ka thiqatam-bik

18.and he directed his beseeching toward You, having trust in You.

فَأَمَّكَ بِطَمَعِهِ يَقِيناً، وَقَصَدَكَ بِخَوْفِهِ إخْلاَصَاً،

faam-maka bit'amai'hee yaqeenaa wa qas'adaka bikhaw-fiheee ikh-laas'aa

19.He repaired to You in his longing with certitude and he went straight to You in fear with sincerity.

قَدْ خَلاَ طَمَعُهُ مِنْ كُلِّ مَطْمُوع فِيهِ غَيْرِكَ،

qad khalaa t'amau'hoo min kul-li mat'-mooi'n feehee ghay-rik

20.His longing was devoid of every object of longing but You,

وَأَفْرَخَ رَوْعُهُ مِنْ كُلِّ مَحْذُور مِنْهُ سِوَاكَ،

wa af-rakha raw-u'hoo min kul-li mah'-d'oorim-min-hoo siwaak

21.and his fright departed from every object of fear but You.

فَمَثَّلَ بَيْنَ يَدَيْـكَ مُتَضَرِّعـاً،

famathala bay-na yaday-ka mutaz''ar-ria'a

22.So he stood before You pleading,

وَغَمَّضَ بَصَرَهُ إلَى الأرْضِ مُتَخَشِّعَاً،

wa gham-maz''a bas'arahooo ilaal-ar-z''i mutakhash-shia'a

23.his eyes turned toward the ground in humbleness,

وَطَأطَأَ رَأسَهُ لِعِزَّتِكَ مُتَذَلِّلاً،

wa t'aa-t'aa raa-sahoo lii'z-zatika mutad'al-lilaa

24.his head bowed before Your might in lowliness;

وَأَبَثَّكَ مِنْ سِرِّهِ مَا أَنْتَ أَعْلَمُ بِهِ مِنْهُ خَضُوعاً،

wa abath-thaka min sir-rihee maaa anta sa'-lamu bihee min-hoo khuz''ooa'a

25.he revealed to You in meekness those secrets of his which You knowest better than he;

وَعَدَّدَ مِنْ ذُنُوبِهِ مَا أَنْتَ أَحْصَى لَهَا خُشُوعاً

wa a'd-dada min d'unoobihee maaa anta ah'-s'aa lahaa khushooa'a

26.he numbered for You in humility those sins of his which You countest better than he;

وَاسْتَغَاثَ بِكَ مِنْ عَظِيمِ مَاوَقَعَ بِهِ فِي عِلْمِكَ

was-taghaatha bika min- a'z'eemi maa waqaa' bihee fee i'l-mik

27.he sought help from You before the dreadful into which he has fallen in Your knowledge

وَقَبِيحِ مَا فَضَحَهُ فِي حُكْمِكَ

wa qabeehee maa faz''ah'ahoo fee h'uk-mika

28.and the ugly which has disgraced him in Your judgement:

مِنْ ذُنُوب أدْبَرَتْ لَذَّاتُهَا فَذَهَبَتْ،

ad-barat lad'-d'aatuhaa fad'ahabat

29.the sins whose pleasures have turned their backs and gone

وَأَقَامَتْ تَبِعَاتُهَا فَلَزِمَتْ،

wa aqaamat tabia'atuhaa falazimat

30.and whose evil consequences have stayed and stuck fast.

لا يُنْكِرُ يَا إلهِي عَدْلَكَ إنْ عَاقَبْتَهُ،

laa yunkiru yaaa ilaahee a'd-laka in a'aqab-tah

31.He will not deny Your justice, my God, if You punishest him,

وَلا يَسْتَعْظِمُ عَفْوَكَ إنْ عَفَوْتَ عَنْهُ وَرَحِمْتَهُ;

wa laa yas-taa'-z'imu a'f-waka in a'faw-ta a'n-hoo wa rah'im-tah

32.nor will he consider Your pardon great if You pardonest him and hast mercy upon him,

لأِنَّكَ الرَّبُّ الْكَرِيمُ

lian-nakar-rab-bul-kareem

33.for You art the Generous Lord

الَّذِي لا يَتَعَاظَمُهُ غُفْرَانُ الذَّنْبِ الْعَظِيم.

al-lad'ee laa yataa'az'amuhoo ghuf-raanud'-d'ambil-a'z'eem

34.for whom the forgiveness of great sins is nothing great!

أَللَّهُمَّ فَهَا أَنَا ذَا قَدْ جئْتُكَ مُطِيعاً

al-laahum-ma fahaaa ana d'aa qad ji-tuka mut'eea'n liam-rik

35.O God, so here I am: I have come to You obeying Your command

لاِمْرِكَ فِيمَا أَمَرْتَ بِهِ مِنَ الدُّعَاءِ،

feemaaa amar-ta bihee minad-dua'aa-i

36.(for You hast commanded supplication)

مَتَنَجِّزاً وَعْدَكَ فِيمَا وَعَدْتَ بِهِ مِنَ الإجَابَةِ إذْ تَقُولُ

mutanaj-jizaw-waa'-daka feemaa waa't-ta bihee minal-ijaabah

37.and asking the fulfilment of Your promise, (for You hast promised to respond):

(اُدْعُونِي أَسْتَجِبْ لَكُمْ).

id' taqoolu: (ud-u'wneee as-tajib lakum)

38.You hast said, "Supplicate Me and I will respond to you" (40:60).

أللَّهُمَّ فَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد وَآلِهِ

al-laahum-ma fas'al-li a'laa muh'am-madiw-wa aaalih

39.O God, so bless Muhammad and his Household,

وَالْقَنِي بِمَغْفِـرَتِكَ كَمَا لَقِيتُكَ بِإقْرَارِي

wa al-qanee bimagh-firatika kamaa laqeetuka biiq-raaree

40.meet me with Your forgiveness just as I have met You with my confession,

وَارْفَعْنِي عَنْ مَصَارعِ الذُّنُوبِ كَمَا وَضَعْتُ لَكَ نَفْسِي

war-faa'-nee a'm-mas'aarii'd'-d'unoobi kamaa waz''aa'-tu laka naf-see

41.lift me up from the fatal infirmities of sins just as I have let myself down before You,

وَاسْتُرْنِي بِسِتْرِكَ كَمَا تَأَنَّيْتَنِي عَنِ الانْتِقَامِ مِنِّي.

was-tur-nee bisit-rika kamaa taan-nay-tanee a'n?lintiqaami min-nee

42.and cover me with Your covering just as You hast shown no haste to take vengeance on me!

أللَّهُمَّ وَثَبِّتْ فِي طَاعَتِكَ نِيَّتِيْ،

al-laahum-ma wa thab-bit fee t'aaa'tika nee-yatee

43.O God, make firm my intention to obey You,

وَأَحْكِمْ فِي عِبَادَتِكَ بَصِيـرَتِي،

wa ah'-kim fee i'baadatika bas'eeratee

44.strengthen my insight in worshipping You,

وَوَفِّقْنِي مِنَ الأَعْمَالِ

wa waf-fiq-nee minal-aa'-maali

45.give me the success of works

لِمَا تَغْسِلُ بِهِ دَنَسَ الخَطَايَا عَنِّي،

limaa tagh-silu bihee danasal-khat'aayaa a'n-nee

46.which will wash away the defilement of offenses,

وَتَوَفَّنِي عَلَى مِلَّتِكَ وَمِلَّةِ نَبِيِّكَ

wa tawaf-fanee a'laa mil-latika wamil-lati nabee-yika

47.and take me when You takest me in the creed of Your prophet

مُحَمَّد عَلَيْهِ السَّـلامُ إذَا تَوَفَّيْتَنِي.

muh'am-madin a'lay-his-salaamu id'aa tawaf-fay-tanee

48.Muhammad (upon him be peace).

أللَّهُمَّ إنِّي أَتُوبُ إلَيْـكَ فِي مَقَامِي هَذَا

al-laahum-ma in-neee atoobu ilay-ka fee maqaamee had'aa

49.O God, I repent to You in this my station from

مِنْ كَبَائِرِ ذُنُوبِي وَصَغَائِرِهَا

min kabaaa-iri d'unoobee was'aghaaa-irihaa

50.my sins, great and small,

وَبَوَاطِنِ سَيِّئآتِي وَظَوَاهِرِهَا،

wa bawaat'ini say-yi-aatee waz'awaahirihaa

51.my evil deeds, inward and outward,

وَسَوالِفِ زَلاَّتِي وَحَوَادِثِهَا،

wa sawaalifi zal-laatee wah'awaadithihaa

52.my lapses, past and recent,

تَوْبَةَ مَنْ لا يُحَدِّثُ نَفْسَهُ بِمَعْصِيَةٍ

taw-bata mal-laa yuh'ad-dithu naf-sahoo bimaa'-s'eeah

53.with the repentance of one who does not tell himself that he might disobey

وَلاَ يُضْمِرُ أَنْ يَعُودَ فِي خَطِيئَةٍ،

wa laa yuz''-miru ay-yau'wda fee khat'ee-ah

54.or secretly think that he might return to an offense.

وَقَدْ قُلْتَ يَا إلهِي فِي مُحْكَمِ كِتابِكَ

wa qad qul-ta yaaa ilaahee fee muh'-kami kitaabika

55.You hast said, my God, in the firm text of Your Book,

إنَّكَ تَقْبَلُ التَّوْبَةَ عَنْ عِبَادِكَ،

in-naka taq-balut-taw-bata a'n i'baadik

56.that You 'acceptest repentance from Your servants,

وَتَعْفُو عَنِ السَّيِّئاتِ، وَتُحِبُّ التَّوَّابِينَ،

wa taa'-foo a'nis-say-yi-aat wa tuh'ib-but-taw-waabeen

57.pardonest evil deeds' (ref.42:25), and lovest the repenters (ref.2:222),

فَاقْبَلْ تَوْبَتِي كَمَا وَعَدْتَ وَأعْفُ عَنْ سَيِّئاتِي كَمَا ضَمِنْتَ،

faq-bal taw-batee kamaa waa't-t waa'-fu a'n say-yi-aatee kamaa z''amint

58.so accept my repentance as You hast promised, pardon my evil deeds as You hast guaranteed,

وَأَوْجِبْ لِي مَحَبَّتَكَ كَمَا شَـرَطْتَ،

wa aw-jib lee mah'ab-bataka kamaa sharat'-t

59.and make obligatory toward me Your love as You hast stipulated!

وَلَـكَ يَـا رَبِّ شَـرْطِي أَلاّ أَعُودَ فِي مَكْرُوهِكَ،

wa laka yaa rab shar-t'eee al-laaa au'wda fee mak-roohik

60.To You, my Lord, belongs my stipulation that I will not return to what is disliked by You,

وَضَمَانِي أَلاّ أَرْجِعَ فِي مَذْمُومِكَ،

wa z''amaaneee al-laaa ar-jia' fee mad'-moomik

61.my guarantee that I will not go back to what You blamest,

وَعَهْدِي أَنْ أَهْجُرَ جَمِيعَ مَعَاصِيكَ.

wa a'h-deee an ah-jura jameea' maa'as'eek

62.and my covenant that I will stay away from acts of disobedience to You.

أللَّهُمَّ إنَّكَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا عَمِلْتُ فَاغْفِرْ لِي مَا عَلِمْتَ،

al-laahum-ma in-naka aa'-lamu bimaa a'mil-t fagh-fir lee maa a'lim-t

63.O God, You knowest better what I have done, so forgive me what You knowest

وَاصْرِفْنِي بِقُدْرَتِكَ إلَى مَا أَحْبَبْتَ.

was'-rif-nee biqud-ratika ilaa maaa ah'-bab-t

64.and turn me through Your power to what You lovest!

أللَّهُمَّ وَعَلَيَّ تَبِعَاتٌ قَدْ حَفِظْتُهُنَّ،

al-laahum-ma waa'lay-ya tabia'atun qad h'afiz'tuhun

65.O God, counted against me are claims that stay in my memory

وَتَبِعَاتٌ قَدْ نَسيتُهُنَّ،

wa tabia'atun qad naseetuhun

66.and claims that I have forgotten,

وَكُلُّهُنَّ بِعَيْنِكَ الَّتِي لاَ تَنَـامُ،

wa kul-luhun-na bia'y-nikal-latee laa tanaam

67.while all of them remain in Your eye that does not sleep

وَعِلْمِكَ الَّذِي لا يَنْسَى

wa i'l-mikal-lad'ee laa yansaa

68.and Your knowledge that does not forget!

فَعَوِّضْ مِنْهَا أَهْلَهَا وَاحْطُطْ عَنّي وِزْرَهَا،

faa'w-wiz'' min-haaa ah-lahaa wah'-t'ut' a'n-nee wiz-rahaa

69.So compensate their owners, lighten their load upon me,

وَخَفِّفْ عَنِّي ثِقْلَهَا، وَاعْصِمْنِي مِنْ أَنْ اُقَارِفَ مِثْلَهَا.

wa khaf-fif a'n-nee thiq-lahaa waa'-s'im-nee min an uqaarifa mith-lahaa

70.lift up their weight from me, and preserve me from approaching their like!

أللَّهُمَّ وَإنَّهُ لاَ وَفَاءَ لِي بِالتَّوْبَةِ إلاَّ بِعِصْمَتِكَ،

al-laahum-ma wa in-nahoo laa wafaaa-a lee bit-taw-bati il-laa bii's'-matik

71.O God, but I can not be faithful to my repentance without Your preservation,

وَلا اسْتِمْسَاكَ بِي عَنِ الْخَطَايَا إلاَّ عَنْ قُوَّتِكَ،

wa laa as-tim-saaka bee a'nil-khat'aayaaa il-laa a'n qoo-watik

72.nor can I refrain from offenses without Your strength.

فَقَوِّنِي بِقُوَّة كَافِيَة، وَتَوَلَّنِي بِعِصْمَة مَانِعَة.

faqaw-winee biqoo-watin kaafeeah wa tawal-lanee bii's'-matim-maania'h

73.So strengthen me with a sufficient strength and attend to me with a defending preservation!

أللَّهُمَّ أَيُّما عَبْد تَابَ إلَيْكَ

al-laahum-ma ay-yumaa a'b-din taaba ilay-ka

74.O God, if any servant repents to You,

وَهُوَ فِي عِلْمِ الْغَيْبِ عِنْدَكَ فَاسِخٌ لِتَوْبَتِهِ

wa huwa fee i'l-mil-ghay-bi i'ndaka faasikhul-litaw-batih

75.while in Your knowledge of the Unseen he will break his repentance

وَعَائِدٌ فِي ذَنْبِهِ وَخَطِيئَتِهِ

wa a'aa-idun fee d'ambihee wakhat'ee-atih

76.and return to his sin and offense,

فَإنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ أنْ أَكُوْنَ كَذلِكَ،

fa in-nee e au'wd'u bika an akoona kad'alik

77.I seek refuge in You lest I be like that!

فَاجْعَلْ تَوْبَتِي هَذِهِ تَوْبَةً لا أَحْتَاجُ بَعْدَهَا إلَى تَوْبَة،

faj-a'l taw-batee hd'ih taw-batal-laaa ah'-taaju baa'-dahaaa ilaa taw-bah

78.So make this my repentance a repentance after which I will need no repentance

تَوْبَةً مُوجِبَةً لِمَحْوِ مَا سَلَفَ، وَالسَّلاَمَةِ فِيمَـا بَقِيَ.

taw-batam-moojibatal-limah'-wi maa salafa was-salaamati feemaa baqee

79.and a repentance which will obligate the erasing of what has gone by and safety in what remains!

أللَّهُمَّ إنِّي أَعْتَـذِرُ إلَيْـكَ مِنْ جَهْلِي،

al-laahum-ma in-neee aa'-tad'iru ilay-ka min jah-lee

80.O God, I ask pardon from You for my ignorance,

وَأَسْتَـوْهِبُـكَ سُوْءَ فِعْلِي،

wa as-taw-hibuka sooo-a fia'-lee

81.and I ask You to disregard my evil acts!

فَـاضْمُمْنِي إلَى كَنَفِ رَحْمَتِكَ تَطَوُّلاً،

faaz''-mum-neee ilaa kanafi rah'-matika tat'aw-wulaa

82.So join me to the shelter of Your mercy through graciousness

وَاسْتُرْنِي بِسِتْرِ عَافِيَتِكَ تَفَضُّلاً.

was-tur-nee bisit-ri a'afeeatika tafaz''-z''ulaa

83.and cover me with the covering of Your well-being through bounteousness!

أللَّهُمَّ وَإنِّي أَتُوبُ إلَيْكَ

al-laahum-ma wa in-neee atoobu ilay-ka

84.O God, I repent to You

مِنْ كُلِّ مَا خَالَفَ إرَادَتَكَ

min kul-li maa khaalafa iraadataka

85.from everything opposed to Your will

أَوْ زَالَ عَنْ مَحَبَّتِـكَ

aw zaala a'm-mah'ab-batik

86.or far from Your love -

مِنْ خَـطَرَاتِ قَلْبِي

min khat'araati qal-bee

87.the thoughts of my heart,

وَلَحَـظَاتِ عَيْنِي

wa lah'az'aati a'y-nee

88.the glances of my eye,

وَحِكَايَاتِ لِسَانِي،

wa h'ikaayaati lisaanee

89.the tales of my tongue -

تَوْبَةً تَسْلَمُ بِهَا كُلُّ جَارِحَة عَلَى حِيَالِهَا مِنْ تَبِعَاتِكَ،

taw-batan tas-lamu bihaa kul-lu jaarih'atin a'laa h'eeaalihaa min tabia'atika

90.with a repentance through which each bodily part will by itself stay safe from ill consequences with You

وَتَأْمَنُ مِمَّا يَخَافُ الْمُعْتَدُونَ مِنْ أَلِيْمِ سَطَوَاتِكَ.

wa taa-manu mim-maa yakhaaful-mua'-tadoona min sleemi sat'awaatik

91.and remain secure from Your painful penalties feared by transgressors!

أَللَّهُمَّ فَارْحَمْ وَحْدَتِي بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ،

al-laahum-ma far-h'am wah'-datee bay-na yaday-k

92.O God, so have mercy on my being alone before You,

وَوَجِيبَ قَلْبِي مِنْ خَشْيَتِكَ،

wa wajeeba qal-bee min khash-yatik

93.the pounding of my heart in dread of You,

وَاضْطِرَابَ أَرْكَانِي مِنْ هَيْبَتِكَ،

waz''-t'iraaba ar-kaanee min hay-batik

94.the trembling of my limbs in awe of You!

فَقَدْ أَقَامَتْنِي يَا رَبِّ ذُنُوبِي مَقَامَ الْخِزْيِ بِفِنَائِكَ،

faqad aqaamat-nee yaa rab-bi d'unoobee maqaamal-khiz-yi bifinaaa-ik

95.My sins, my God, have stood me in the station of degradation in Your courtyard.

فَإنْ سَكَتُّ لَمْ يَنْطِقْ عَنِّي أَحَدٌ،

faan sakat-tu lam yant'iq a'n-neee ah'ad

96.If I remain silent, none will speak for me;

وَإنْ شَفَعْتُ فَلَسْتُ بِأَهْلِ الشَّفَاعَةِ.

wa in shafaa'-tu falas-tu bih-lish-shafaaa'h

97.if I seek an intercessor, I am not worthy for intercession.

أَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد وَآلِهِ

al-laahum-ma s'al-li a'laa muh'am-madiw-wa aaalih

98.O God, bless Muhammad and his Household,

وَشَفِّعْ فِي خَطَايَـايَ كَرَمَكَ،

wa shaf-fia' fee khat'aayaaya karamak

99.make Your generosity intercede for my offenses,

وَعُدْ عَلَى سَيِّئاتِي بِعَفْوِكَ،

wa u'd a'laa say-yi-aatee bia'f-wik

100.follow up my evil deeds with Your pardon,

وَلاَ تَجْزِنِي جَزَآئِي مِنْ عُقُوبَتِكَ

wa laa taj-zinee jazaaa-ee min u'qoobatik

101.repay me not with the punishment that is my proper repayment,

وَابْسُطْ عَلَيَّ طَوْلَكَ وَجَلِّلْنِي بِسِتْرِكَ،

wab-sut' a'lay-ya t'aw-lak wa jal-lil-nee bisit-rik

102.spread over me Your graciousness, wrap me in Your covering,

وَافْعَلْ بِي فِعْلَ عَزِيز تَضَرَّع إلَيْهِ عَبْدٌ ذَلِيلٌ فَرَحِمَهُ،

waf-a'l bee fia'-l a'zeezin taz''ar-raa' ilay-hee a'b-dun d'aleelun farah'imah

103.and do with me what is done by a mighty man, when a lowly slave pleads to him and he shows him mercy,

أَوْ غَنِيٍّ تَعَرَّضَ لَهُ عَبْدٌ فَقِيرٌ فَنَعَشَهُ.

aw ghanee-yin taa'r-raz''a lahoo a'b-dun faqeerun fanaa'shah

104.or a rich man, when a poor slave submits himself and he raises him to wealth!

أللَّهُمَّ لاَ خَفِيرَ لِي مِنْكَ فَلْيَخْفُرْنِيْ عِزُّكَ،

al-laahum-ma laa khafeera lee mink fal-yakh-fur-nee i'z-zuk

105.O God, I have no protector against You, so let Your might be my protector!

وَلا شَفِيعَ لِيْ إلَيْكَ فَلْيَشْفَعْ لِي فَضْلُكَ،

walaa shafeea' leee ilay-ka fal-yash-faa' lee faz''-luk

106.I have no intercessor with You, so let Your bounty be my intercessor!

وَقَدْ أَوْجَلَتْنِي خَطَايَايَ فَلْيُؤْمِنِّي عَفْوُكَ،

wa qad aw-jalat-nee khat'aayaaya fal-yoo-min-nee a'f-wuk

107.My offenses have set me quaking, so let Your pardon give me security!

فَمَا كُلُّ مَا نَطَقْتُ بِهِ عَنْ جَهْل مِنِّي بِسُوْءِ أَثَرِي،

famaa kul-lu maa nat'aq-tu bihee a'n- jah-lim-min-nee bisooo-i atharee

108.Not all that I have said rises up from my ignorance of my evil footsteps

وَلاَ نِسيَان لِمَا سَبَقَ مِنْ ذَمِيمِ فِعْلِي،

wa laa nis-yaanil-limaa sabaqa min d'ameemi fia'-lee

109.or forgetfulness of my blameworthy acts in the past,

وَلكِنْ لِتَسْمَعَ سَمَاؤُكَ وَمَنْ فِيْهَـا،

wa lkil-litas-maa' samaaaw-uka waman feehaa

110.but in order that Your heaven and those within it

وَأَرْضُكَ وَمَنْ عَلَيْهَا مَا أَظْهَرْتُ لَكَ مِنَ النَّدَمِ،

wa ar-z''uka waman a'lay-haa maa az'-har-tu laka minan-nadam

111.and Your earth and those upon it may hear the remorse which I have professed to You

وَلَجَـأتُ إلَيْكَ فِيـهِ مِنَ التَّوْبَـةِ،

wa lajaa-tu ilay-ka feehee minat-taw-bah

112.and the repentance through which I have sought asylum with You.

فَلَعَـلَّ بَعْضَهُمْ بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَرْحَمُنِي لِسُوءِ مَوْقِفِي،

falaa'l-la baa'-z''ahum birah'-matik yar-h'amunee lisooo-i maw-qifee

113.Then perhaps one of them, through Your mercy, may show mercy upon my evil situation

أَوْ تُدْرِكُهُ الرِّقَّةُ عَلَىَّ لِسُوءِ حَالِي

aw tud-rikuhur-riq-qatu a'lay-ya lisooo-i h'aalee

114.or be seized by tenderness for my evil state.

فَيَنَالَنِي مِنْهُ بِدَعْوَةٍ أَسْمَعُ لَدَيْكَ مِنْ دُعَائِي،

fayanaalanee min-h bidaa'-watin heea as-mau' laday-ka min dua'aa-ee

115.There may come from him for my sake a supplication to which You givest ear more than to my supplication

أَوْ شَفَاعَـةٍ أَوْكَدُ عِنْدَكَ مِنْ شَفَاعَتِي

aw shafaaa'tin aw-kadu i'ndaka min shafaaa'tee

116.or an intercession surer with You than my intercession

تَكُونُ بِهَا نَجَاتِي مِنْ غَضَبِكَ وَفَوْزَتِي بِرضَاكَ.

takoonu bihaa najaatee min ghaz''abik wa faw-zee biriz''aak

117.through which I may be delivered from Your wrath and attain to Your good pleasure!

أللَّهُمَّ إنْ يَكُنِ النَّدَمُ تَوْبَةً إلَيْكَ فَأَنَا أَنْدَمُ اْلنَّادِمِينَ،

al-laahum-ma ee-yakunin-nadamu taw-batan ilay-ka faanaa andamun-naadimeen

118.O God, if remorse is a repentance toward You, then I am the most remorseful of the remorseful!

وَإنْ يَكُنِ التَّرْكُ لِمَعْصِيَتِكَ إنَابَةً فَأَنَا أَوَّلُ الْمُنِيبينَ،

wa ee-yakunit-tar-ku limaa'-s'eeatika inaabatan faanaa aw-walul-muneebeen

119.If refraining from disobedience is a turning back to You, then I am the first of those who turn back!

وَإنْ يَكُنِ الاسْتِغْفَارُ حِطَّةً لِلذُّنُوبِ فَإنَي لَكَ مِنَ الْمُسْتَغْفِرِينَ.

wa ee-yak-nilis-tigh-faaru h'it'-t'atal-lild'-d'unoobi fa in-nee ? laka minal-mus-tagh-fireen

120.If praying for forgiveness alleviates sins, surely I am one of those who pray for Your forgiveness!

اللَّهُمَّ فَكَمَا أَمَرْتَ بِالتَّوْبَةِ وَضَمِنْتَ الْقَبُولَ

al-laahum-ma fakamaa amar-ta bit-taw-bati waz''amintal-qabool

121.O God, as You hast commanded repentance and guaranteed acceptance,

وَحَثَثْتَ عَلَى الدُّعَـاءِ وَوَعَدْتَ الإجَابَةَ،

wa h'athath-ta a'laad-dua'aa-i wa waa't-tal-ijaabah

122.as You hast urged supplication, and promised to respond,

فَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدِ وَآلِهِ وَاقْبَلْ تَوْبَتِي

fas'al-li a'laa muh'am-madiw-wa aaalih waq-bal taw-batee

123.so also bless Muhammad and his Household, accept my repentance,

وَلاَ تَرْجِعْني مَرجَعَ الخَيبَةِ منْ رَحْمَتِك

wa laa tar-jia'-nee mar-jia'l-khay-bati mir-rah'-matik

124.and return me not to the returning place of disappointment in Your mercy!

إنَّكَ أَنْتَ التَّوَّابُ عَلَى الْمُذْنِبِينَ،

in-naka antat-taw-waabu a'laal-mud'-nibeen

125.Surely You art "Ever-turning" (2:128) toward the sinners,

وَالرَّحِيمُ لِلْخَاطِئِينَ الْمُنِيبِينَ.

war-rah'eemu lil-khaat'i-eenal-muneebeen

126."All-compassionate" (2:128) toward the offenders who turn back!

أللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد وَآلِهِ كَمَا هَدَيْتَنَا بِهِ

al-laahum-ma s'al-li a'laa muh'am-madiw-wa aaalihee kamaa haday-tanaa bih

127.O God, bless Muhammad and his Household just as You hast guided us by him!

وَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد وَآلِهِ كَمَا اسْتَنْقَذْتَنَا بِهِ،

wa s'al-li a'laa muh'am-madiw-wa aaalihee kamas-tanqad'-tanaa bih

128.Bless Muhammad and his Household just as You hast rescued us through him!

وَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد وَآلِهِ

wa s'al-li a'laa muh'am-madiw-wa aaalihee

129.Bless Muhammad and his Household,

صَلاَةً تَشْفَعُ لَنَا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَيَوْمَ الْفَاقَةِ إلَيْكَ،

s'alaatan tash-fau' lanaa yaw-mal-qeeaamati wayaw-mal-faaqati ilay-k

130.with a blessing that will intercede for us on the Day of Resurrection, the day of neediness toward You!

إنَّكَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْء قَدِيرٌ وَهُوَ عَلَيْكَ يَسِيرٌ .

in-naka a'laa kul-li shay-in qadeer wa huwa a'lay-ka yaseer

131."Thou art powerful over everything" (3:26), and that is easy for You!
